Mermaid's Crying

Episode 9 of 20

Once the most cherished treasure of a man named Leo, the mermaid lost everything when his mother died because of her, and he sent her down to hell. Escaping with a broken body, she saves every coin she can for a sea burial, but the ocean is too far away, so she takes the only work that will hire her, performing in a glass tank for strangers' amusement. One night Leo walks in with his new lover on his arm, calls her a whore, and forces her to reveal her true form before a jeering crowd. Her despair pulls her toward the deep, and the story turns on what Leo does next.
