When Silence Spoke

Episode 45 of 70

Claire Grant, the young daughter of the wealthy Grant family, walks away from home after a bitter argument with her father to care for Alexander Hayes, the boyfriend who lost his hearing and speech in a car accident. Pretending to be deaf and mute from birth, she stays at his side for three years, taking whatever odd jobs she can find to pay for his treatment. Once Alexander recovers, he becomes ashamed of having been connected to a deaf-mute girlfriend and turns toward the scheming Victoria Miles, treating Claire with cruelty at every turn.
