Celia is in the middle of labor when her husband, Commander Alexander, chooses to stay by Serena's side while she gives birth instead. After five years of marriage, during which she had severed her ties with her own family to be with him, Celia has received nothing but his indifference. Lying on the operating table, she signs two papers, one for surgery and one for divorce. Only when Alexander finally learns what really happened does he realize he has waited too long.
