Lucy Stone goes through with her wedding to Jared Shaw, a man who is very close to his mother, because she felt she had no choice but to obey her own mother. The ceremony, however, lands on the same day as a wedding for the Taylor family, and the two celebrations collide in a way neither household expected. Lucy is left caught between the family she is joining and the choice that brought her to the altar.
