The Secret in the Sweater

Winnie Morris repairs old wool sweaters at her knitting shop in Chicago, and each one carries a love story that was never fully told. When an elderly woman named Irene brings in a worn grey cardigan given to her by her husband Harold, she explains that he disappeared forty years ago. Winnie sets out to find him and discovers him in a California nursing home, where Alzheimer's has taken much of his memory. Yet his body still seems to recognize the sweater, and Winnie begins stitching a golden heart over its hole, hoping the thread can reach across the decades that kept the couple apart.
