The Hawthornes' Little Healer

Episode 5 of 81

Nathan Hawthorne journeys into the mountains seeking an immortal sage to lift his family's curse, but he faints and is rescued by a girl named Apple. Moved by her hardships, he adopts her, and her new father Adrian quickly dotes on her after she shields him from a speeding car. When Paul Hawthorne collapses, Apple heals him with acupuncture, deepening Olivia Hawthorne's jealousy. Rachel Lawson, whom Adrian suspects is the sage, grows to hate Apple and hires Timothy Parker, leader of the Beggars' Sect, to kill her.
