The Faceless Wife

Episode 1 of 1

A woman's husband, a city medical examiner, hangs up on her during a call that lasts only seventeen seconds, and she is killed by an attacker before the night is over. Her husband has spent their seven years of marriage dismissing her fears as drama, and he was at a hospital with her stepsister, whom he believed to be depressed. Three days later he is assigned a brutal case in which an acid-ravaged body is unrecognizable. Working the autopsy with his usual cool precision, he reaches the point where the reconstruction software finishes its image, and the face on the screen is his own wife's.
