The Conch's Cry for Help

Episode 6 of 45

Once a fisherwoman, Queen Nephele has spent years being pushed aside while King Athamas lavishes his attention on his mistress, Ino. On her eighth birthday, Princess Helle is left adrift on a leaking boat by her own father and drowns in the icy waves, calling out for help. Consumed by sorrow, Nephele turns her grief into a campaign of retribution, laying bare her husband's cruelty and hypocrisy in front of their daughter's memorial portrait.
