Stitch by Stitch, She Rose

Episode 7 of 64

Julia Russell grew up in a rural household where sons were valued far more than daughters. At eighteen she fell for Aiden Smith, a city youth sent to the countryside, and after bearing a daughter she moved with him to the city. There his family treated her with contempt, made her miserable, and even blamed her child for theft. When she finally reached her breaking point, Julia walked out with her daughter and crossed paths with Richard Bailey, a disabled veteran, who stood between her and Aiden's relatives when they pursued her.
