Jiang Chao has quietly adored Xiang Ziyue, the prettiest girl at school, since their student days. Just before graduation he finally works up the nerve to confess, and to his disbelief she says yes. Giddy with joy, he celebrates with his roommates, then wakes up seven years later to find that the woman he once worshipped is now his wife. She is still stunning, but she treats him with distance and coldness, and from her remarks Jiang Chao begins to realize that something has gone badly wrong between them.
