Number 47

Episode 21 of 30

In seas that are slowly dying, a golden-haired and a dark-haired mermaid princess discover that a corruption engineered by an ancient entity has repeated for ten thousand years. Hunted by the Black Queen, who devours mermaids, they learn the golden-haired princess carries a dark pull of her own. When the Queen falls, a parasitic heart spreads into the dark-haired princess and reveals that their apparent triumph was the failure of the forty-seventh cycle. Guided by the First Queen, they make a total sacrifice to end the cycle at the Ocean's Heart, only to wake on land with human legs while the sea keeps dying.
