Senior architect Monica inherits an old family house and plans to turn it into a bed-and-breakfast. Her husband Alan, however, forges her signature to mortgage the property and cover his investment losses, leaving her buried in debt. Refusing to let the loss define her, Monica sets out to repay every cent by running the homestay she calls Maple House, where it slowly becomes a refuge for troubled women. Meanwhile, her ex-husband is scheming to seize the property she has worked so hard to save.
