The Tiny Tyrant of Go

Episode 54 of 87

Destitute Master Glenn, unable to look after his young disciple Anna in a harsh city, sends the little girl down from the mountains to find shelter at the Nova Go Club under Master Parker Jordan. Her arrival stuns everyone when she solves the Sovereign Gambit, a Go puzzle that had resisted every solver for 20 years. Parker takes her in, but the ruthless Go King Owl soon bursts into the club demanding a showdown. Anna stays calm and picks apart each of his attacks, leaving the proud champion kneeling and begging to be taught by her. Afterward, Parker reveals a lifelong goal: winning the legendary Zenith Go Championship so he can learn what really happened to his wife.
