Sean Blake lands in the Parker household as a son-in-law the family openly despises, enduring scorn from his wife's relatives and cruelty from those with real power. A chance meeting with the Empress reveals her to be Gavin Reed, another of his close buddies who came through the same way. Joining forces, the two set out to expose Prince Adam's plan to stage a deadly banquet.
