Episode 42 of 73

Liu Shu is an honest but powerless outcast from the countryside, living a humble life that has left him easy to overlook. In his later years, his wife Zhao Xiaoping abandons him, and she does so alongside Wang Erhu, who is also part of the betrayal. The cruelty of being cast aside by the people closest to him sets up a painful conflict at the heart of the story, one that will push Liu Shu to reconsider everything he has accepted about his life.
