In 1987, Curtis Shaw invests every dollar he has into a factory cafeteria run by his closest friend, Marcus Reed. The venture flourishes until the Reeds, driven by greed, push Curtis out of the company he helped build. Rather than fight back, Curtis quietly leaves, carrying with him the suppliers, customers, and goodwill that held the business together. Some people only come to understand what they have lost once everything has collapsed.
