David Rosenau begins as an undertaker who later goes undercover as a detective, and the story follows how that dangerous work pulls him toward a new calling as a pastor. Each step of his path brings him into peril and personal trials that test where he truly belongs. The tale opens on the moral and physical risks he faces as he moves between two very different worlds.
