Julie, a young white woman from the American South, falls deeply in love in this award-winning indie story about a bond that asks nothing in return. Her heart leads her toward a man whose past sets them apart in a community that does not welcome their romance. Letters to Freedom explores how far two people will go for a love that holds firm against prejudice and the expectations of everyone around them. Told through an intimate, emotional lens, the story turns on the courage it takes to choose each other.
