In the closing days of the Second World War, British Private Jim McLeod finds himself the lone survivor of a German ambush. Stranded and searching for a way back to his own lines, he must face the danger of the enemy territory around him while the war grinds toward its end. His desperate struggle to stay alive sets the stage for a story that blends wartime peril with an unexpected, mythic undercurrent.
