When the Wall Fell

For a hundred years Arthur guarded the empire alone, using divine power to hold back the flesh-eating Blight behind an unbreakable barrier. When greedy citizens coveted the riches lying past that wall, they denounced him as a fraud and drove him away. The instant he was gone, the barrier collapsed and the Blight swarmed the capital, leaving the disgraced Empress pleading for mercy while Arthur stood by and watched. Queen Ella of Odwyn then placed the future of her people in his hands, and their journey into the perilous Black Mist set up a far greater threat than the one they had expected.
