The Underworld King’s Substitute Bride

Every twenty years, the Starlight Empire must send a royal bride through the Black Gate to wed the Lord of the Underworld. When the expected princess cannot make the crossing, a substitute steps forward and takes her place in the shadowed realm beyond the gate. Fate has bound her to the king who waits there, and their union carries a pull neither of them can easily resist, even as they face the unfamiliar world that now surrounds them.
