System Activated: Make My Dad Pay

Jackson has returned to his family, brought home by his father Jason and his stepmother, but he feels nothing at all about the reunion. The years he has been gone add up to fifteen, and that long absence hangs over every awkward moment between them. Jackson's cold reaction hints at old wounds that the warm welcome cannot simply erase. The tension between a son who feels numb and a father trying to make things right sets the stage for everything that follows.
