Second Act

At Iron-Crown Machinery, Vera is pushed out of her position by Camilla, a protégé she once trained. Stripped of prestige, she finds herself working in second-hand trades, a sharp fall for someone who was once the company's expert. The story turns on the humiliation of that reversal and the question of whether Vera can rebuild her standing in the business world.
