Family Ties, Severed

Alan is so absorbed in meeting the constant demands of his vain wife that he pushes his aging parents to the margins of his life. When his mother falls ill and nearly drowns, his skewed priorities set off a tragedy that no one can undo. Alan's pride and prejudice keep him from reaching her side in time to say goodbye, and he is left carrying guilt that grows heavier with every day he lives without her.
