Covenant of the Witch

In a northern land where the Holy Church rules with an iron fist and labels magic as heresy, Elena is a gifted healer and the illegitimate daughter of her family. Her half-sister Veronica and her fiancé Grayson turn on her, tearing out her magic core and condemning her to burn at the stake. Dying, she strikes a bargain with the Ash Goddess for devastating ash magic, but each spell chips away at her soul. Given a second chance seven days before her arrest, she teams up with Marcus, a disgraced knight, to bring down those who betrayed her.
