Act As If It’s Real

A young man from a small town arrives on Broadway with nothing but ambition and a willingness to bend the rules. To win a part opposite his idol in a teacher-and-student romance, he accepts help from a wealthy, much older patron who pays for his place in the cast. When the newcomer asks the veteran star to mentor him, the actor sets out to humiliate him by seducing him in front of that patron. What begins as a cruel game gradually blurs into something real, while a twenty-year-old secret, a sham marriage and a life lived in the closet threatens to push them both to the brink.
